Bloody Foreland

This is a broad headland at the northwest corner of Donegal, between Ballyness Bay and Gweedore. It gets its name from the reddish tinge which the rocky coast takes on at sunset. Tory Island lying a few miles offshore becomes a glowing dream island in the dusk from Bloody Foreland.

The area is known as a predominant Irish speaking region, and a well attended Irish language summer school is popular by many.
